What changed in each release. Updates arrive in the app via Check for Updates.

Select text and press the shortcut: the app now explains your selection every time, instead of sometimes explaining older copied text.
Pressing Esc now closes the explanation panel.
If nothing is selected, you now see a “No text selected” message.

Removed the Services menu entry. The keyboard shortcut now works the same way in every version of the app.

Clearer error messages. Provider errors, such as a busy server, no longer show raw technical output.
Brief “high demand” and rate-limit errors are now retried automatically before you see anything.
More accurate error messages for invalid API keys, wrong model names, denied access, quota limits and blocked content.

Explain This now appears in the right-click menu: select text in almost any app, right-click, then Services → Explain This. You can also give it your own keyboard shortcut in System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts → Services.

Moved API key storage from UserDefaults to the Keychain, and send the key in a request header instead of the URL.
Reduced redundant API key validation on every launch, and improved error handling for login-item and API request failures.
